Devil's Wager - Betting guide to Manchester United vs Aston Villa

The Theatre of Dreams hosts Aston Villa in a 3pm kick off that has an atmosphere of struggle around the fixture, whether it be to find a late surge of form for Manchester United, or a must win situation for the villains if they have any hope of completing a five game win streak to keep them in the Premier League.

The game presents a chance to close in on the sought after top four spot for the devils, after they self-imploded late in their last game against Spurs, they have the opportunity to bounce back against a weak side who have only found the net twice in their last seven league games.

The situation strikes most punters on a knife edge, a lot like most of the games seen at Old Trafford this season surprise is always on the cards. Having won none of their last 12 Barclays meetings, odds of 1/4 will definitely be included in our accumulators for a United win.

In terms of final score and surrounding bets, four of the last five premier league games have ended in 1-0, with three of those being a win a solid 5/1 can be seen as quiet generous, but this is against a team who ship close to two goals a game on average. Manchester United to score two or more is a good 2/5. At 3/4 United to win to nil is astonishing, a really good price for what can be seen as a very reasonable outcome.

When it comes to goal scorers and picking the right player, we spend most of our time pulling our hair out "Why on earth didn't I put him on" or "I called that earlier I knew he would score!" but I have tried to compile what little scorers United do have to offer, which I suppose makes it easier in the anytime goal scorer bets.

Anthony Martial has scored three goals in his last six games, and having lit up a fairly drab season for the fans, you can find him at a fair price of 19/20. Another player that has jumped on to the scene is Marcus Rashford, and constantly shocks the bookies, now perceived as a real threat sits at 4/6. The starlets price comes as the most likely scorer and considering his tidy return recently against top opposition, he won't struggle against a poor back four.

The big return of Wayne Rooney has probably annoyed the guys travelling up north to Old Trafford, as Wayne Rooney has scored 13 Premier League goals against Aston Villa, second to Newcastle (14) as the top against a single team. On his return he looks to reinforce his claim for a seat on the plane to France, settling in at 7/10.

I hope this was an enjoyable read, and from me to you I hope for some first time luck and all goes to plan! My first post working with The United Devils has been great, and hope to cover more Devil's Wagers along with other articles too. I'll leave you with my three BOTD (Bets of The Day).
