Manchester United Player Ratings:

David De Gea (5) – Could do nothing to stop Benzema’s close rate shot and apart from that had little to do in the game.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah (5) – A good experience for the youngster and didn’t do too much wrong in the game, might have been more switched on of the Madrid goal.

Eric Bailly (6) –
Still doesn’t look fully comfortable in a back 3 but he did come out well from the back and was aggressive when he needed to be.

Scott McTominay (6) – Did a good job in a relatively unknown position from hit, did get a little stretched at times in the 2nd half.

Matteo Darmain (6) – Played a role in both of United’s goals and looked to attack when he could, if he could just improve his final ball then he would be a great addition to the squad, providing he stays.

Luke Shaw (6) – Had a solid first half but was stretched at times in the second as Madrid pressed United’s back line

Ander Herrera (7) – Had a good game and didn’t do much wrong. Had more of a attacking threat in this game combining well with Mata and Sanchez in the final third and took his chance well when it fell to him.

Andreas Pereira (7) – Once again had a very impressive game in midfield, he looked composed on the ball and tried to go forward as much as possible.

Fred (7) – Had an impressive first game for United and shows why we bought he. He showed flashes of brilliance with his dribbling and is very composed on the ball, plus he rarely gives the ball away.

Juan Mata (8) –
Had another impressive game on this Tour for United and looked extremely sharp. The combination between him and Sánchez really flourished in this game and hopefully that can continue into the start of the season.

Alexis
Sánchez (9) – Once again the best player on the pitch, he has so much energy and skill that defenders just can’t handle him, and even when we didn’t have the ball in the second half he worked extremely hard to hold it up and keep possession when he did eventually get it.

SUBS:

Alex Tuanzebe (5) – A good experience for him to play against a team like Real Madrid.

Demetri Mitchell (N/A) –
Too late to mark

James Garner (N/A) – Too late to mark

Man of the Match: Alexis Sánchez
