Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Player Ratings

David De Gea - 6.5
A quiet night tonight for United’s No.1 with Crystal Palace only registering one shot on target. No chance for the goal.

Ashley Young - 7.5
Was sloppy in possession for the Palace goal but all in all he managed to keep Wilfred Zaha quiet and when he was moved further forward he took his goal really well.

Chris Smalling - 7.0
Another pretty solid performance alongside Lindelof as they defended their own box well. Would have been disappointed not to have cleared the ball and prevent the Palace goal.

Victor Lindelof - 7.5
Another good assured performance from the iceman as part of a back four that restricted Palace to one shot on target all game. He chipped in with an assist for the second goal.

Luke Shaw - 8.0
Another top class performance from Luke tonight showing he can be an attacking threat down the left with a great run and pass for Lukaku to open the scoring.

Fred - 6.5
Failed to take his opportunity tonight. Kept loosing possession by trying too many Hollywood passes and was dispossessed in the middle of the pitch on a number of occasions with him dwelling on the ball for too long.

Scott McTominay - 7.0
Scott backed up a good performance against Liverpool and had another  in this game. Made some impressive passes forward, breaking opposition lines.

Paul Pogba -  7.0
A relatively quiet game for our french talisman. He had a good opportunity to score with a header he should have done better with in the second half. He did however assist the third goal and now he has been directly involved in 20 of United’s league goals this season (11 assists, 9 goals).

Alexis Sanchez - 6.0
Another poor and ineffective performance from Sanchez. Couldn’t influence the game in any way and was replaced by a half fit Marcus Rashford for the last 15 minutes.

Romelu Lukaku - 8.0
Two well taken and important goals for the big Belgian striker. Played well in the central striker role in the absence of Rashford from the start. Could have had a hattrick if he had took his chance early in the game.

Diogo Dalot - 7.0
Considering he was asked to play out of position as a means to an end, Dalot put in a good performance. He provided strong support for Ashley Young to deal with the threat of Van Aanholt and Zaha and when he got in to attacking positions he provided some good crosses in to the box.

Substitutes

Eric Bailly - 6.5
Came on to play right back to help sure up the defence after Palace had got it back to 2.1. This change meant Ashley Young was pushed further forward and as a result Young was able to kill the game with United’s third.

Marcus Rashford - 6.5
Came on to replace the poor Sanchez. Overall had little impact on the game but his presence on the pitch for United and his influence on the team is so important at the moment.

James Garner 6.5
A nice touch from the gaffer to give James Garner his professional debut tonight playing the last five minutes. United finished the game with their midfield made up of academy graduates. The future looks bright.
