After an excellent win against Fulham on Saturday, United travel to Spain to face Valencia in their final match in the Champions League group stages. This is really an irrelevant game for both sides as the group is almost completely decided and both sides face important opposition at the weekend as United take on Liverpool at Anfield and Valencia face Eibar who are above them by one place in La Liga. This could be a chance for some players with limited playing time to prove their ability and a potential place in the squad against the Reds on Sunday.
As for team news; Paul Pogba, Andreas Pereira and Scott McTominay are hinted by Jose to feature in some part of the match and could be used as a midfield three for the first time this season. The travelling squad reportedly excludes the likes of Diogo Dalot, Chris Smalling, Nemanja Matic, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial and David de Gea (Manchester Evening News). Juan Mata is likely to feature against his former team and, after being a crucial part of Manchester United's fantastic first half display against Fulham, will be raring to go. Mason Greenwood and James Garner trained with the first team and are both reportedly on their way to Spain with the main squad. Mason Greenwood has lit up the youth league and has scored 17 goals in 16 games and could make a fairytale debut in a European competition, just like Marcus Rashford did three seasons ago. Sergio Romero is likely to start against the Spanish side as De Gea will not travel and Antonio Valencia will captain the side with Diogo Dalot rested, hopefully, for the Liverpool game.

As for Valencia, former-Arsenal player Gabriel Paulista came off injured against Sevilla last time out and could miss the game, as could Colombian international, Jeison Murillo and French international, Kevin Gameiro who are both injured. Jose Gaya is suspended and should not feature against United which could pose a worry for Valencia as their defence has been their best feature of a relatively mediocre start to the season.
Both teams have bigger fish to fry at the weekend with Eibar a position ahead of Valencia in the league and Liverpool at the top of the table and unbeaten in the League so far this campaign. Pogba should be the difference on a night where he needs to prove to the fans, the manager and to himself that he is the world class player that won the World Cup in the summer in an attempt to start against Liverpool on Sunday. I can see Mason Greenwood featuring if United are drawing or winning and would love to see how he fares alongside the likes of Mata and Pogba. I think United will win and do so comfortably as even with rotation they have better players in better form than Valencia.
Predicted Lineup: Romero, Valencia, Jones, Bailly, Rojo, Pereira, McTominay, Pogba, Mata, Rashford, Lukaku
PREDICTED SCORE: 0-2 to United
