Manchester United vs Burnley Match Analysis
Manchester United were able to stretch their unbeaten run to 9 consecutive games in all competitions under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when they played against Burnley at Old Trafford.
Match Highlights
The first half ended goalless as neither side could really break through the opposition's defense and create good chances. However things began to look up in the second half.
The first goal of the game came in the 51st minute, when Pereira's error gave the ball away to Cork, who played it through to Barnes and made no mistake with the effort, blasting the ball into the roof of the net giving De Gea no chance.
Half an hour later the Clarnets would double that advantage after some nice movement on the right wing, a delightful ball in across the box, and a simple header from an unmarked Wood.
This is when the fairy tale comeback began. United were awarded a penalty in the 86th minute after Lingard was pulled down inside the box by Hendrick, and Pogba dispatched it into the top right corner. Even though Tom Heaton guessed the correct direction, the height and power made it impossible for him to keep it out.
Rashford's 92nd minute corner was then latched onto by Jones, who played it back to Lingard, who found Young, who then played a ball in, which was headed towards goal and saved off the line, but Lindelof was there for the rebound to give United a stoppage time equalizer. And just like that in the blink of an eye, United came back from 2 goals down to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw.
What's next for Manchester United
Manchester United's next match comes on February the 3rd when the Reds travel to Leicester to play the Foxes, a side currently sat 10th in the table. A win would be crucial for Man United as Chelsea and Arsenal, the two teams in the way of a Champions League spot, play Man City in the coming weeks. Solskjaer will be hoping to guide his team into top 4 and is now looking very likely to get the permanent United job. Come on United.
