Dylan Levitt is 18 years old and was born in Bodelwyddan in Wales. Levitt has represented Wales at every age group level in both the under-17’s and under 18’s categories. His preferred position is central midfield and has been described from fellow players and coaches as a ‘classy’ midfield player, a ‘creative schemer’ and someone who is very versatile, from sitting Infront of his defence to playing behind the main striker (Manchestereveningnews.co.uk).

Last season Levitt was a regular for Neil Ryan’s under-18’s side, playing 14 games and impressing with five goals and six assists.

His consistent form for the under-18’s saw him get regular call-ups to Ricky Sbragia’s U23 side, playing nine games for that age group and picking up the one assist.

The young Welshman’s increased U23 game time has come when fellow youngsters like Chong and Garner have been called into Solskjaer’s first team. Levitt’s main breakthrough came at the time when both of them, along with Brandon Williams, travelled with the first team squad to Paris for that February Champions League tie.

Before this season, Levitt scored an important winner for the U18s at Middlesbrough on route to the Premier League North title in 2017/18 and was influential in a crucial game against Man City that helped secure that silverware.

Levitt’s talents and impressive performances were awarded by United with the offer of a professional contract, which he signed in April 2018. The young prospect has also picked up some very nice compliments and comparisons along the way.

Those who have seen him play and worked with him have given him one of the highest compliments you can get as a future Manchester United player and that is his style is very similar to that of Paul Scholes. While academy chief Nicky Butt has also been left impressed by Levitt’s consistent performances over the last year.

Levitt also caught the eye of another former United player and that was Wales boss Ryan Giggs, who decided he was ready to earn his first Wales call-up to the national team. He was part of the 26-man group who trained in Portugal and was also named as a substitute in both games. Even though he failed to make an appearance, he will be pleased to have been part of the group and manager Ryan Giggs will hope he gained some experience from it and be ready for the many future call-ups he will defiantly be getting.

Finally, on a personal level for Levitt, it was a very productive season, chipping in with goals and assists for the U18’s, making appearances for the U23’s. While being shortlisted for the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the year award and as previously said, finishing off with a national team call-up. The next step for the young man will be to catch the eye of the United Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and grasp an opportunity in the first team.
