Manchester United go into this game in good spirits after an emphatic Derby Day win extended United's unbeaten run to ten matches, winning eight and scoring 24 goals. They travel to Austria to play the league leaders, LASK in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the Europa League. This game, like many others around Europe, will be played behind closed doors due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus which puts United's next match against Tottenham in doubt as London has the most cases in the UK totalling over 100 at the current time of writing. However all that United are focused on now is LASK and putting in the groundwork for qualification to the next round of the Europa League:

And the Reds go marching on! Manchester United are absolutely flying at the moment and a convincing 2-0 victory over cross-town rivals Manchester City added win number seven to the 10 game unbeaten streak spanning across all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

We have seen signs over the course of this season that suggested this United team was not all that far away from entering a good run of form. And as it turns out, the Reds were exactly a Bruno Fernandes signing away from going on the hottest streak of the season.

It's now gotten to a point where you can no longer say this run is only down to good fortune. Going 10 games unbeaten, winning seven, and keeping clean sheets in eight is no fluke. It seems like things may finally be clicking for Solskjaer and his men — and at the perfect time.

Amidst the doom and gloom caused by the rapidly spreading pandemic of the Coronavirus, Manchester United gave their fans something to cheer about in a five-star, 5-0 dismantling of Austrian LASK in the Round of 16 Europa League first leg.

The Raiffeisen Arena, the European home of the Austrian league leaders, was a ghost town on Thursday. UEFA was forced to take steps in order to protect the players and fans from the viral disease — and as a result — some games were postponed and others were forced to take place 'behind closed doors.'

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made five changes from the derby win on the weekend with the likes of Anthony Martial and Aaron Wan-Bissaka staying behind in Manchester to heal some knocks ahead of an important league game against Spurs on the weekend. However two thrashings occurred with Chelsea battering Everton and Leicester getting revenge on Villa for the Carabao Cup exit and Manchester United looking for their first leage win against Manchester City at home for five years. Of course this article would have been published tomorrow with the Manchester City vs Arsenal game from last week but the match has been postponed due to the coronavirus spreading which is posing a threat to suspend all of world sport. Old Trafford has been home to Manchester United's since 1910, but in recent years the stadium has been neglected by the owners of the club making one of the most impressive and largest stadiums in the country in the last 20 years, into an out of date stadium which while still beloved by the fans of the club doesn't have the same draw that it used to from fans of the sport.

The stadium hasn't been left in complete disarray with Old Trafford undergoing several expansions in the 1990s, and 2000s, including the addition of extra tiers to the North, West and East Stands making the stadium's capacity 74,879, the largest capacity club ground in the UK. However, there is so much more that could be done and developed which has been completely ignored by the board and owners. A club as big as Manchester United and with the worldwide fanbase it has, could easily fill a stadium with a capacity of over 100,000. As Manchester United’s productive and successful pre-season draws to a close they play AC Milan in their final warm up game ahead of the new season. This encounter against the Italian giants will be the last of United’s International Champions Cup campaign. They have a perfect record to this point with two wins from two against Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur respectively. A convincing win will see The Reds lift this years trophy, a feat they achieved back in 2014 when they beat Liverpool in America.
Milan's form has been the complete opposite, losing their ICC matches against Bayern Munich and Benfica. Additionally, they could only manage a 1-1 draw against Serie C side Novara. After a disappointing draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, Manchester United travelled to Pride Park for the 5th Round of the FA Cup, hoping to maintain their eight game unbeaten run. The Red Devils qualified for the Quarter-Finals with a 0-3 win at Pride Park against Wayne Rooney's Derby County side and Solskjaer's side will now play their third FA Cup away match in a row with another trip to Carrow Road set to take place at the end of March.
