There is no better way to kick-off a day than the latest announcement from the club on their official website. Scott McTominay has penned his future to Manchester United on a long term deal till 2025, with an option to extend it by one year.

He said,
“Whilst I understand that we all have so many other things to think about at the moment, I’m so happy to sign this contract and play a part in the future ahead for this team.“All I have ever known is United and I hope that my passion for the club shows every time I go onto the pitch. I’ll continue to give everything for this club whenever I pull on the shirt.

“I want to thank the manager for the faith he has shown in me and everyone at the club that has helped me to get where I am today. I’m looking forward to finishing this season on a high and hopefully achieving our aims.”

The Scotsman has certainly proven to himself and the footballing world that he is of the elite level with no qualms at all. Earning his debut under the stewardship of a hard-to-impress Jose Mourinho, the journey has been more ups than downs for the young man. And it is not much of a surprise that Ole Gunnar Solskjær too values him as an important asset for his plans for the club.

Scott McTominay has repaid his manager's faith in him a hundred folds back. Along with fellow midfielder Fred, he has shown incredible character to step up when the team needed him the most and has kept the ship afloat. Nobody can wave off his contributions for our team when we looked bleak in the midst of this season after star players, Pogba and Rashford had suffered major setbacks.

Having meteorically risen to the status of a fan favourite, Scott would certainly have been a major contender for the Manchester United's  Player of the Season award if not for his injury. Exhibiting admirable resilience and determination, he did come back in style! A spine tingling screamer against the noisy neighbours on 'Red Letter Day'. Not much of a surprise why the Manchester United supporters hold him in such high esteem, is it?

McTominay, only 23, has many parts of his game to improve though. Solskjær, as he had promised at the start of the season, has done a good job in involving him more in attack and consequently we have benefited from his forays going forward. Scott has developed into a Midfielder with an eye for goal, scoring vital goals time and time again. His body also reveals the shifts he has been putting in, since the boss had granted the players gym sessions which was restricted under Jose.

He would certainly have got a warm cheer from the raucious Old Trafford faithful, had it not been a behind closed doors match against the Blades tomorrow. It needs to be asked that who would be the more happy to extend McTominay's contract? The club officials, the fans or he himself? A very hard question to tackle, isn't it?!
