have been speculations Manchester United don’t want to extend Alexis Sanchez’s loan deal at Inter Milan. United are unwilling to extend the player’s loan, as they don’t want to strengthen a direct opponent in the Europa League. Inter Milan were due to play their R16 Europa league game against Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perèz stadium in Spain before the league was suspended due to the novel Coronavirus. Alexis Sanchez who joined Manchester United in the summer of 2018, from Arsenal FC. The Chilean was Arsenal’s talisman having scored 80 and set up 45 goals in 166 matches. He was branded the famous No. 7 shirt for the Red Devils but has failed to make an impact at Manchester United due to injury crisis.

Having scored just 5 goals in 45 appearance for Manchester United before he was loaned out to Inter Milan. Alexis, who has been a different player for Inter Milan after the pandemic and Inter want to extend his loan till the end of the season. Speculations on the news were that Manchester United don’t want to extend Sanchez’s loan at Inter.  The Red Devils are on the quest to win the Europa League and so is Inter Milan. United don’t want to enhance their rival’s chances of winning the trophy and look to bring back Sanchez.

What will be of Alexis Sanchez if he is to return back to Old Trafford by the end of the month?
Manchester United loaned out Alexis Sanchez back in August to Inter Milan and hoped he would be able to reignite his career there but that hasn't been the case for the Chilean. With the current form Manchester United are in at the moment - 13 games unbeaten run in all competition with 11 clean sheet. It's been a fantastic run from the Red Devils after the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP in January and with Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford coming back into the starting 11 after a long term injury.
One would ask, will Sanchez fit into what Ole is building? Will he be able to make the starting XI?
The stats he's had after leaving Arsenal is one he wouldn't be proud of and that would surely go against him irrespective of how good he was at Arsenal. Will Alexis Sanchez, 31, perform at the level he did at Arsenal for Manchester United?
Honestly, I think Alexis has a little left to offer a club like Manchester United at that would be as a  back-up player to come off the bench. When you have a group of young and inexperienced players in your squad, then Alexis' experience becomes valuable.

Will Alexis Sanchez perform if he's to return to Manchester United?
"It has been a traumatic, very tortuous year for him. Ever since his departure from Arsenal and his first year at Manchester United," The Chilean Coach speaking to SPORT. "He came to the Copa America in Brazil and then had that bad luck with the injury in the friendly against Colombia in Alicante. That loan to Inter was almost thwarted and when he recovered the pandemic came." He continued, "I expect all these to pass quickly because he's a great professional, has a great attitude in training and will maintain a high standing for any club that gives him a chance.
Alexis is a great player with a great personality but I do think he'd reach the level he had at Arsenal for Man Utd. I do not see Alexis taking Rashford's place in the starting XI. The best he can offer is to be a back-up player to add experience to the young group in the squad. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has backed Alexis Sanchez to return back to Old Trafford and prove his doubters wrong.

“Will the loans of Henderson, Sanchez and Smalling be extended? I think so but it’s a matter of administration and paperwork. Hopefully everything will work out,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaking to at his Pre-match Press Conference of Manchester United vs. Sheffield United encounter at Old Trafford.
