Bruno Fernandes has been a godsend for Manchester United. Rarely does any transfer, let alone a midseason transfer, acclimate to a club with as much immediacy, and with as much success as Fernandes has, in just 10 matches with Manchester United.

The 10 matches in which Fernandes has featured, feel more like a full season for Reds’ fans. This isn’t simply because so much time has passed, but also because it has been largely a tale of two seasons for this 2019-2020 Man United squad.

In its first 10 matches, United garnered just 13 points out of a possible 30, and sat in 7th place, just five points clear of the relegation zone, and 7 points off top-four. Since Fernandes joined United, the Reds are undefeated, and have matched the 13 point total in just 5 matches since EPL’s “project restart”.

Fernandes has been a huge reason why.

The Portuguese international has scored at least a goal in each of his last 3 matches, including a brace at Brighton in the last match of June. For his efforts in June, Bruno Fernandes was named the FA Premier League Player of the Month for the second time as a United man. He has been given this award for the second consecutive month (February) and has done it in both months he has played for the squad.

The impact Fernandes has made for United is almost indescribable. The team has a completely different feel with him in the lineup, and he seems to elevate the club from mid-table level, to a club that can contend for trophies.

A squad that has in the past looked pedestrian in attack, and lacking direction, now seems dangerous and explosive when possessing the ball. Bruno was instrumental in United netting 6 goals in its last two fixtures in May, and scored the all important equalizer from the spot against Tottenham in the squad’s first game back in the restart.

Fernandes is already off to a flying start in July, scoring 2 goals and adding 3 assists in two matches played. Can the Portugal man grab 3 Premier League Player of the Month awards in a row?
