Another Game, another three points. The unbeaten streak continues!

Earlier today Manchester United took on Bournemouth and looked every bit as dominant as we have seen them over the restart. Possibly the best game we have seen from the frontline. Goals from Rashford, Martial, Greenwood and Fernandes helped to secure the three points for United. Goals from Stanislas and Josh King made for a nervous time (with another goal being ruled offside), but thankfully we rallied to take home the 3 points at the Theatre of Dreams.

Is there anything that needs to be sad about our current front three? It is interesting to note that they have managed to score more goals than Liverpool’s front three. With Rashford having performed off the pitch already, he has continued his excellence on it. Although it took him a while to get score since the restart, his well taken penalty will be all the boost needed to continue his goal tally. Martial arguably scored the goal of the day today. Although the defence was tight against Martial, he managed to find space for himself on the edge of the box and whip in a curler past Aaron Ramsdale. Mason Greenwood is truly our Wonder Boy. Left foot, right foot, through the defender’s legs. Which way would you like it served? His performances recently have been phenomenal, all coming from the right side of the field. Not since Rooney played when he first came to United has a teenager impressed so decisively. He truly had a Man of the Match performance. He took his second goal well as he carved out the space and fired a rocket that the keeper could only get a hand on. The sky’s the limit at this point for the young Red and it will be interesting to see how Ole protects him, or if he will continue to rise despite the pressure.

The Brogba magic continues

Its Pogba and Bruno you know! The impact one player has had on our game is quite immense. Can you imagine how different the season could have been had Bruno been acquired earlier on in the season? He is surely among the best signings of the season. He brings so much forward play to United. Before he signed for United, we would look inept when teams defended in numbers against us. On the counter we always showed our threat, but could not break down teams that built a wall in front of the keeper. Today he showed his forward play by always looking to dictate the ball going forward. Quick one touches and flicks are part and parcel of his game. His Free kick was sublime. Taken quickly and precisely. Pogba finally looks unlocked! Without having to be the main man to have to conjure up a goal or play every time, the addition of Bruno has allowed him the freedom to set the tempo of the game and pick out players with aplomb. Matic has also been key in the resurgence in the side. He has been vital in leading the defensive shape of the side and makes his neat interventions that are shoring up the middle of the park. Not to mention that he keeps the ball extremely well even under pressure.

Bailly and Maguire not ingratiating themselves with today's performance

With all the praise going to the forwards and the midfield, it was a bit disappointing to see our centrebacks look skittish when it counted. Granted that the goal we conceded in the first half was soft, Maguire should not be letting a player through so easily. Lindelof had a good first half and was subbed out to make way for Eric Bailly. It might be to give Bailly some game time as the score was 3-1, but it was a bit of a bizarre substitution to make. Reports are saying that Lindelof may have suffered from a back injury, but at this point we are not 100% sure. What happened directly after the restart was just disastrous. School boy defending that led to a controversial penalty that was slotted home by former Red, Josh King. Bournemouth kept mounting the pressure and had another goal ruled offside. Had United not have scored to lift the pressure off our backline, the final scoreline might have been completely different. Our wingbacks are looking the part, but with games coming in fast and stronger opposition looking likely to punish us we need Maguire and Bailly to do better and keep being switched on.

To wrap up we are up to 4th place with Chelsea set to play today. It is inconceivable to think that not so long ago we had no shape or style of playing and were ways off of challenging for the top four, let alone the title. The impact of Fernandes can not be understated and if we keep playing like this we should definitely secure a champions league spot for the next season.
