After a pretty embarrassing start to 2020, Manchester United aim for their first win of the year with a home match to bottom side Norwich City on the horizon before massive games against Wolves in the FA Cup and Liverpool away in the Premier League the following weekend. Here’s all you need to know:

Teams: Manchester United vs Norwich City
Date: Saturday 11th January 2020
Time: 15:00 GMT
Location: Old Trafford
Managers: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Daniel Farke
Referee: Anthony Taylor

Team News:
Massive boost for Manchester United as Harry Maguire is in contention to start after missing out on the Manchester Derby and Phil Jones stepping up and falling flat on his face. Literally. Jesse Lingard’s illness has worsened and is out and may have played his last game for United if the reports are true. McTominay and Pogba remain out and so do Eric Bailly and Tim Fosu-Mensah but the latter two will play in the u23’s game tonight and so could be ready to play very soon.
For Norwich, Teemu Pukki could be ruled out with hamstring and toe issues and could remain on the sideline with Adam Idah likely to replace the Finnish striker. Timm Klose, Ben Godfrey and Josip Drmic remain injured but goalkeeper, Ralf Fahrmann is in contention to start.

Predicted Lineup and Score:
I expect only one change to the back five and that has to be Phil Jones who was told to step up in Maguire’s absence and fell flat on his face. Literally. Maguire HAS to be back and his true role in the team has never been highlighted more than it was against City. Matic and Fred will play in midfield and dictate play to the front four.  I hope Angel Gomes has a bigger role in the next few weeks until a new number 10 comes in but he will likely play second fiddle to Andreas Pereira for reasons I can’t quite understand. James, Rashford and Martial should start and shine as they did at Carrow Road and boost their confidence ahead of a tough week.

I expect United to exorcise some demons against Norwich who play a certain way that benefits United’s front three and will hopefully keep a clean sheet too.

PREDICTED TEAM:
De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire (c), Williams, Matic, Fred, James, Pereira, Rashford, Martial

PREDICTED SCORE: 4-0 United win
