Manchester United defeated Southampton 3-2 at Old Trafford to sneak back into the top 4. Here are my player ratings for the match.

David de Gea: 6/10
Not his greatest performance under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Couldn't do anything about Southampton's goals and other than that made only one save.

Ashley Young: 7/10
Another decent performance for United's captain. Was partially at fault for Southampton's equalizing goal but nevertheless played well.

Chris Smalling: 6/10
Didn't have too much to do but helped support Lindelof and got the job done.

Victor Lindelof: 7/10
Not a standout game for the Iceman either but was strong at the back and defended well from set pieces.

Luke Shaw: 7/10
Made a few good runs here and there and showed why he should be a regular starter.

Andreas Pereira: 8/10
Scored in some fashion to equalize and assisted Lukaku's first goal. Overall did well to recover after a shocking performance against Burnley.

Scott McTominay: 6/10
After a phenomenal performance against Liverpool and Crystal Palace, he was rather quiet tonight and didn't get much of the ball.

Paul Pogba: 6/10
Another player who didn't live up to his standards was Paul Pogba, he didn't effect the game how he would have wanted to and failed to register a goal or assist.

Alexis Sanchez: 4/10
Safe to say his career at Manchester United is finished. Hasn't had a single good performance since joining from Arsenal and was dull in tonight's match. Had to go off in the 52nd minute due to a knee injury. We should have kept Micki.

Marcus Rashford: 7/10
Had some decent chances, the most remarkable one being the close range header just off target. Didn't manage to score but made room for Lukaku and caused the Southampton defence some problems.

Romelu Lukaku: 10/10
Scored two goals for the second match in a row. Was composed to put United ahead for his first goal and bolted one into the bottom corner to win it in the 89th minute. He's got his confidence back and is starting to score regularly again.

Substitutes

Diogo Dalot: 9/10
Assisted the equalizing goal and was crucial in breaking down the Southampton defence. One of his most electrifying performances since joining United and a definite MOTM nominee.

Fred: 5/10
Came on for the final 15 or so minutes and had another mediocre performance.

Tahith Chong: N/A
Came on for the final seconds making his Premier League debut.

MAN OF THE MATCH: ROMELU LUKAKU
