Setting Up the Midfield Against Chelsea

The winter break is drawing to a close with Manchester United taking a trip to Stamford Bridge on Monday night. The United team have taken a refreshing break to Marbella, Spain to continue their training for the season.
We have definitely had some good news over the two weeks. Scott McTominay has made the trip and is now ready to start the next game after being out of action for almost 6 weeks. Paul Pogba did not join the squad in Spain but has stepped up his recovery in Dubai and "can't wait to get back on the pitch". Add that to the existing options of Nemanja Matic who was amazing when called upon, Fred who has been our best midfielder this season, and Bruno Fernandes who has the potential to become our best player in the seasons to come after being named Man of the Match just two days after signing for the club.
This winter break comes at a great time for Bruno as all this time off with the squad will feel like the pre-season he missed. In his first game, Bruno was amazing but the only issue felt was that he wasn't on the same wavelength as the others or more like the others weren't on his wavelength. They were having troubles reading his long balls, predicting his runs and couldn't play to his tempo. 

Options for the Chelsea game: 

The game on Monday night is a must-win for us as we've been pushed lower down on the table with Sheffield United and Everton overtaking us last week. I feel Bruno Fernandes holds the key to us beating Chelsea and the game needs to revolve around him. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to hand him a free role and the permission to stay upfront. In Bruno's first game against Wolves, Solskjaer asked him to play as a number 6 in the second half so that he gets on the ball more often. This proved out to be the wrong strategy because of the lack of creativity up front. 
Against Chelsea, we'll need a midfield trio of Fred, McTominay and Bruno Fernandes. Fred and McTominay nailing down the defensive part of our game with our Scotsman playing a box to box role and Bruno being completely open to doing anything upfront. Matic could also play after serving his one-match ban. But in this case, we'll need Fred playing the box to box and Matic being the rock at the back.

The FA Cup has once again given football lovers another fascinating match as Manchester United will be looking to stay on course for a record-equalling 13th FA Cuptriumph as they travel to Derby County for the fifth round on Thursday evening. Derby have an Old Trafford legend in their midst, Wayne Rooney and they eagerly waiting to spoil the party for a rejuvenated Man Utd. Everton vs. Manchester United Match Analysis and Player Ratings

It shouldn't come as that much of a surprise at this point if you are a Manchester United fan and you hear that individual mistakes have cost them the three points. The latest case of that plague came back to haunt the Reds in their top four six pointer against Everton away at Goodison Park on Sunday. A game in which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men ended up hanging on to a 1-1 draw.

Once again, the Reds failed to pounce on the the team's above them dropping points. With a win, United could have been within a point off fourth and six points off third place in the league. But despite a pretty good first half showing, the players and fans were left with a bitter taste in their mouths following the full time whistle. United got off to the worst start possible against the Toffees as an absolute howler from David De Gea gifted the hosts the lead inside the opening three minutes.

Everton vs Manchester United Preview

On Sunday, Manchester United travel to Goodison Park to face Everton. The game sees, a 5th placed United side take on a 11th placed Everton side, though the sides are only separated by 5 points.

Though the table says United are the favourites for the game, recent history is in favour of Everton. They have won four of their last seven Premier League home games against Manchester United, including a 4-0 victory last season, one of United's worse performances in recent history. Additionally, it has been 13 months since the Red Devils claimed back-to-back away victories in the top flight, meaning this will be a test for the Red Devils.

In terms of team news, Sergio Romero started in the Europa League win on Thursday night but David De Gea is expected to be recalled between the sticks on Sunday. Manchester United vs Club Brugge Match Analysis and Player Ratings

Truly pleased to write this article as Manchester United have now won five of the last seven and recorded a massive 5-0 win over Club Brugge tonight to see them comfortably progress to the Round of 16 with a 6-1 aggregate. Solskjaer's men did the job and will now have a big task in looking for a win at Goodison Park against a revamped Everton side.

Team Selection:
Manchester United made a host of changes from the mixed bag of a squad in Belgium with Solskjaer reverting to a back four and looking for the kill. Brandon Williams, Victor Lindelof and Diogo Dalot all out with Shaw pushed wider, Eric Bailly making his second start of the season and Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the right. Scott McTominay made his first start of 2020 and Odion Ighalo came in for his first start for Manchester United. As for Club Brugge, Emmanuel Dennis was injured and unable to feature with the pacy Daniel Okereke starting up front and Eder Alvarez out for Federico Ricca.

Another exciting evening is in store for Man Utd as they welcome Club Brugge to Old Trafford on Thursday for the second leg of a Europa League last-32 tie that is finely poised. The reverse fixture in Belgium ended in a 1-1 draw after Anthony Martial cancelled out Emmanuel Bonaventure's opener. Martial's goal saved his team's blushes and ensured that United's unbeaten run remained intact. This is a competition ManchesterUnited won two seasons ago under Jose Mourinho and the Red Devils have a proud unbeaten record to uphold, having not lost their last 12 home Europa League games since losing to Athletic Bilbao in March 2012. Centre Back Options for the Remaining Games

Manchester United stormed into the round of 16 with a 5-0 win over Club Brugge last night. Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Fred and Odion Ighalo got on the scoresheet with assists coming from substitutes Tahith Chong and Jesse Lingard for the latter two goals. United have now been drawn with Linzer Athletik-Sport-Klub (LASK) for the round of 16 ties to be held on the 12th and 19th of March. 
This article will take a look at which defensive pairings United should be using for the upcoming games as some really difficult and tricky games are in our path and squad rotation will become vital. With the return of Eric Bailly, we are better off than before but with good performances from the Ivorian, selection becomes tougher. We have games against Everton, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspurs coming up in the league along with FA Cup games and Europa League round of 16 games which makes this a decisive month.

With a five point gap between fourth and eighth and a four point gap between ninteenth and fifteenth, the eleven games left will be tense and full of drama with every team concerned knowing dropped points could send them spiralling down the table. Old Trafford has been home to Manchester United's since 1910, but in recent years the stadium has been neglected by the owners of the club making one of the most impressive and largest stadiums in the country in the last 20 years, into an out of date stadium which while still beloved by the fans of the club doesn't have the same draw that it used to from fans of the sport.

The stadium hasn't been left in complete disarray with Old Trafford undergoing several expansions in the 1990s, and 2000s, including the addition of extra tiers to the North, West and East Stands making the stadium's capacity 74,879, the largest capacity club ground in the UK. However, there is so much more that could be done and developed which has been completely ignored by the board and owners.
